Library Rules & Procedures
Lunchtime Procedures
If you would like to come to the library during your lunch period, here are your options.
Option #1
Eat lunch in the cafeteria, then come to the library when you are done eating. Mr. Atilano will escort students from the lunchroom to the library. If you are an Academic Center Student, this rule applies to you. There is no Option #2.
Option #2 for High School Students Only
If you want to skip lunch and come directly to the library, you may do so. (No pass needed). Be sure you are in the library BEFORE the start of the lunch period. If you are late, you will be directed to the lunchroom.

Checkout Periods
Books: The loan period for most books is 2 weeks. Some Reference books may be checked out overnight. "Reserve Books" are temporary collections for specific course projects; the check out period for the time they are on reserve is determined by the librarian.
Technology, Games, and the Maker Space: Chrome Books, board games, and any technology from the Maker Space can be checked out for one lunch period only.
Video Game Policy
You may only play video games on lunch periods if computers for others are available. Also, you must have no C's, D's, or F's to play video games on our computers or on your devices.
Passes on Colloquium Day
There are no passes to the library on Colloquium Days.
Fines
Fines are assessed for late books.
If you lose or damage a book, you are responsible for replacement costs.
Fine sheets will be distributed to your advisory teacher on a weekly basis.
If you accrue a fine, you may not check out another book until the fine is paid for.
Renewals
Books in the circulating collection may be renewed for one additional two week period.
If the book is overdue the fine must be paid before the book is renewed.
Damaged & Lost Books
Students are responsible for the replacement cost of lost or damaged books.
Printing in Between Classes
Students are not allowed to print in between classes. You have ample time before and after school and on lunch periods.

- Respect the Learning Environment: The library is a place where work is being done, research is happening, and amazing thoughts are being produced. Keep the volume level at a respectable level. Treat the equipment with respect. Also, NO EATING OR DRINKING AT ANYTIME!
- Use Cell Phones Academically: You may use your cell phone as you wish in the library, but you may not talk on your cell phone. If you need to make a call, you may always use the library phone.

- Spaces are not always available because classes are scheduled.
- Once you are here, you stay until the end of the period.
- Technology is available on a first come, first served basis. Also, technology may not be available if classes are scheduled.
- You must be self-directed and quiet while classes are in the library. Otherwise, you will lose lunch privileges.
